^APY = Annual Percentage Yield.
No minimum average daily balance required. Rates are accurate as of the effective date displayed, and they are subject to change. The APY (Annual Percentage Yield) is a percentage rate that reflects the total amount of interest paid on the account, based on the interest rate and the frequency of compounding for a 365-day period. Fees may reduce earnings on the account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Saving Cents is an optional savings account where eligible debit card transactions for participating checking accounts are rounded up to the nearest dollar and deposited into your Saving Cents account.
To enroll, members can contact Member Services, and must have a debit card attached to their checking account. Business checking accounts are not eligible for the program.
Members can view their Saving Cents balance by logging in to Online Banking at SCCU.com, the SCCU Mobile app, visiting a branch, contacting Member Services, or accessing their account through Call 24.
No. Members may only withdraw money from their account. Saving Cents accumulates money through debit card transactions only.
Daily. At the end of each business day, the aggregate amount from each debit card transaction is transferred from the checking account to the SCCU Savings Cents account.
The interest rate of your SCCU Saving Cents account depends on your account balance. See current rates here.
All non-whole dollar amount transactions qualify. Whole dollar transactions do not qualify for round up. For example, a transaction totaling $12.35 qualifies for round up, but a transaction of $12.00 does not.
Members may only have one SCCU Saving Cents account per membership; however, you can have multiple checking accounts linked to the SCCU Saving Cents account. IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be the primary checking account holder to successfully link it to a SCCU Saving Cents account.
If an enrolled Checking account balance is negative, transactions will not begin rounding again until the balance is positive.
